Summary of the book:
This book tells the story of a down-to-earth
psychiatrist, who falls in love with a client who keeps a horrifying secret.
Their love affair has many twists and turns and the darker aspects of both
their characters is exposed within this book.
What
I liked about the book:
I particularly liked the suspense in this
book. It was steamy, fast-paced and, although it could happen, unbelievable at
the same time.
What
I didn’t like about the book:
I wasn’t impressed by the professionalism of
the psychiatrist. Shouldn’t she have handed over the case at an earlier stage
perhaps?
My
favourite bits in the book:
I loved where it was impossible for both
characters to hold back their desire for each other. Another episode was where Christian
showed his obvious care for Jessica by allowing her time to come to terms with
his secret while at the same time making sure she was safe.
My
least favourite bits in the book:
I didn’t like it when Jessica gave in to the
pressure put on her by Christian to not do the right thing. And what did really
happen towards the end of the book? Did they give way to any dark desires?
Any
further books in the series? Any more planned by this author?
I
understand this is the first in a planned series of 3 books following this
couple. I wonder where the author will take us with those books.
What
books could this be compared to and why?
This
book reminded me of mixture of the ‘Fifty Shades’ series and a crime novel.

of Trinidad. A gifted author and screenplay writer, Avionne has penned works in
many different genres over the years, but her favorites are romance and horror,
both of which she infuses with her dry wit.
She is an avid dog-lover and is currently owned by two
delusional rottweilers, Caesar and Isis. She is also an aspiring gardener,
although she will readily confess to her virtual cemetery of cacti.
A self-confessed coffee addict, she has no love for morning
until after her second cup: one sugar, no cream. Her other addictions include
talent shows and WWE wrestling, which she blames for spoiling her social life
since she cannot miss her 'rassling'.
