Book Description by Author:

Sweet temptation. Wicked fantasies. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Gemma Davis

I’m moving forward with my summer plans: Mission Promiscuous. Tired of being single and frustrated, it’s time I take charge of my pleasure. I’m on the hunt for some fun on two strong legs, when my dark-haired, blue-eyed fantasy man walks right out of my wet dreams. Mission accepted; I will do whatever it takes to lure him into my arms.

Elijah Adler

I’m a very busy man. As the CEO of my real estate development company, I’m married to my job. My commitment and drive to be the best leaves little time for unplanned...distractions. But when Gemma dances into my life, I begin to wonder if maybe it’s time to make an exception to my rule.

Ready to risk it all, Gemma makes it her mission to make her fantasy man her reality. But, can she convince him to play with her, if only for the summer?

Mission Promiscuous is a steamy 86,000-word first love/all grown up/the one that got away standalone romance. This book contains themes suited for mature readers.

About the Author:

Lala enjoys spending time with her husband and cuddling with her pups. While she is obviously a lover of reading, reality TV, and podcasts about reality TV, Lala considers herself a vodka enthusiast, a wannabe wine connoisseur, and a caftan fashion icon.

Writing has always been a dream of hers, and Mission Promiscuous, her first book, is a dream come true.

Overall score:

I scored this book 4/5

Short Summary of the book:

Having read another book by this author, I must say it felt a bit like a duplicate experience. The other book Lads Reunited, appeared to be very much the same idea and extremely similar experiences. It was fun though.

What I liked about the book:

A nice tongue-in-cheek book.

What I didn’t like about the book:

The fact it appeared to be a nearly exact double of Lads Reunited, only a  female version.

My favourite bits in the book:

The way the girls say their final goodbye.

My least favourite bits in the book:

How so very little differed from the other book.

Any further books in the series? Any more planned by this author?

This author has written a few other books, which are also worth a read.

What books could this be compared to and why?

This is a tongue-in-cheek comedy not shying away from some difficult subjects.

Recommendation:

In summary, I would recommend this book for the following readers:

If you like your books dark, but with humour, book may be the book for you.

I’m certainly looking forward to reading more by this author.

Book Description by Author:

'This is FUNNY. A bus load of laughs'

Back together again on a weekend to remember......for 24 hours they won't forget - a laugh-out-loud reunion which takes them on one hilarious adventure.

She's using a Vibe Tonight:

A road trip like no other!

Hilarious, fun and original - 'A laugh-out-loud feel good page turner'

A novel every woman and man should read to put a smile back on your face

They may not have seen each other for a long time but Beth King has booked a bus and brought Belle, Imani, Estella, Lilly and 'Pete's wife' together for one last night out - a day they've all been looking forward to for years and a day they're not going to forget.

She's using a Vibe Tonight - A funny lad-lit / chick-lit comedy adventure' - take it home and use it (I mean, read it) tonight!

Please note, this book is incredibly similar to Lads Reunited, also by Max Speed. Someone challenged the author to re-write the bestseller 'Lads Reunited' but with female lead characters as they said it couldn't be done.

'She's using a Vibe Tonight' proves that women can be just as laugh-out-loudish as men - 'the book has not just be re-written with a female twist - it's better, funnier and the characters are brilliant'.

'Put the girls in your basket and enjoy the adventure!'

She is a self-published author of the paranormal series, Inhuman. She is currently working on the second book in the series, which should be released in Fall 2015.

She started off by drawing picture books when she was four years old, and began writing short stories when she was eight years old. Heather’s main inspiration behind writing is to be able to leave the greatest impact on whoever picks up one of her books by influencing a more positive and spiritual outlook on life. She strives to create fresh and original stories that grasps a reader’s attention, and hooks them with her strong and compassionate characters. Heather brings in unique storylines that no one has ever read before, and this is what caters to her originality. Her writing uses humor to teach self-confidence by encouraging her readers to laugh at themselves every once in a while. She accomplishes this by having her characters react in a comical and humorous way to embarrassing moments and certain hardships. She writes of relatable hardships that help her readers feel less alone, and makes them feel more accepted.

Although, Heather’s current target audience are teens, she doesn’t stick to one given genre or age group. Her genre varies from book to book. She’s written science fiction novels, mystery novels, romance novels, fantasy novels, thriller novels, and many more. Heather’s ultimate goal is to be a major impact on the world for the better. She hopes that her books challenge others to think both philosophically and spiritually. She also strives to eventually make a comfortable living off of being a full time writer. Once Heather finishes her book series, she will be working on publishing her science fiction novel.

I scored this book 3/5

Short Summary of the book:

My rating is influenced by the fact one of the characters really got on my nerve. Her snobbish behaviour really put me off.

The idea of the book is interesting. Two writers meet at a writer’s conference before the pandemic. They hit it off and retire to a supply cupboard.

Then, the pandemic strikes and both are isolated on their own and aim to keep the flame going. But what will happen when Christmas comes around and restrictions are eased?

What I liked about the book:

My favourite bits in the book:

Book Description by Author:

It’s Christmas 2020—be careful what you wish for! After meeting at a pre-pandemic writers conference, struggling sci-fi novelist Jeffrey Dahl attempts to rekindle a romance with renowned holiday erotica author Lourdes D.P. Ivy. But stay-at-home orders, social distancing, and communication gaffes lead to a series of old-fashioned letters as the would-be lovers exchange Christmas stories.

From award-winning author William R. Hincy, A Fire for Christmas takes a satirical blowtorch to our most cherished holiday stories, then invites the reader to make snow angels in the ashes.

Will Jeff and Lourdes catch fire? In 2020, nothing is certain.

Featured in the collection:

A Fire for Christmas: Afternoon cartoons-obsessed Billy Lynus has one item on his wish list—a Navy Stan action figure. But if past disappointment is kindling for future humiliation, Billy is primed to ignite a Yule log that’ll burn for Christmases to come.

The Coal Train: After being naughty on Christmas Eve, Moya and her brother Aden awake to find coal in their stockings and a train in their suburban front yard. The duo stowaway on a madcap adventure, but there are no kindred spirits, kindly ghosts or quirky conductors to guide them. And this train isn’t going to the North Pole.

Dungeons and Santa: A lonely teenager devises a plan to make his Christmas wish come true. The catch—Santa.

Hall-Marked at Christmas: Climatologist Moya Hoffman aims to reverse climate change by making it snow across the globe on, you guessed it, Christmas. But matters are complicated when the tiny hamlet of Christmas Village faces stay at home orders after a nefarious stranger goes scrambling through the local mall, maskless and coughing all the way. Throw in a burgeoning romance with new-to-town mechanic Bill Lynus, a desperate desire for human contact after months of isolation, and the potential sale of the family’s antique car museum, and there are all the trimmings for a Christmas romance unfit for cable TV.

It Isn’t, Actually: After a suicide attempt goes awry, former city councilman Jorge Sanchez finds himself pulling his guardian angel from the river. Granted a glimpse of what the town would be like if he was never born, Jorge is left questioning if it’s really a wonderful life. At Christmas!

ADVANCED PRAISE FOR A FIRE FOR CHRISTMAS

"A book you can read. There are a lot of words here... probably too much." - Cousin Elroy

"A riot! The best book ever written!!" - Mom

"In A Fire for Christmas, William R. Hincy once again proves he is the writer most likely to have multiple personality disorder." - Hincy's therapist (who really doesn't pay that much attention so, like, what does she know?!?)

"A MUST READ for anyone who's a masochist." - @DonnaTheDom6969

"I think it's quite good, actually." - the author.

About the Author:

Merry Christmas!

 Merry Christmas everyone!

I hope you all are having a fabulous time with friends or loved ones, or on your own if that's what you prefer.

I have spent my morning making preparations for our evening meal. Instead of the traditional turkey they serve up in the UK at Christmas, we like it a little less of a fuss. Christmas is a time to have fun and do things you enjoy in our house. No time to waste it on stressing over getting the turkey cooked.

Instead, I make a salad, have some small pieces of meat and we get the stonegrill out. So, instead of spending hours in the kitchen, everyone cooks their own food at the table.

It also left a little time to do something else I enjoy, crafting.

Wrapping presents for Christmas is a task that doesn't always seem inspiring. Especially when it comes down to wrapping gift certificates.

So, when I needed to come up with a way to wrap some gift certificate Christmas presents, I thought I would go about it a little different from usual.

"What," I thought, "if I would create a book box with a cover relevant to the interest of the recipient?"

So, I designed and made two book boxes. One for a girl who loves drawing, and one for a boy who loves gaming.

For this project, I've combined my skills in crafting, writing and cover design.

I'm quite pleased with the result and hope the boy and girl the presents are intended for will like it too.

Here the boxes are. They can even use it afterwards to store little items in like pencils or pens, or sweets.
