Book
Description by Author:
Richard loses his job and is ditched by his
gold-digging fiancée. Has his life become a disaster, or is fate offering him
an escape from the boring lifestyle forced on him by his father - a chance to
realise a teenage dream?
Before he can do more than dream, his ex-wife
dumps a daughter he didn't know existed on his doorstep, and helping her must
be done in secret or interest the Social Services and risk her being removed to
a children's home.
Fourteen-year-old Maria knows her mother
doesn’t want her, but can she believe her father does, or is she a burden he'd
happier without? When ex-fiancée, Bridget, offers her a home with her aunt,
Maria accepts.
Ben, a rescue centre dog adopted by Richard,
supposedly doesn’t like children, but he likes Maria. The Jack Russell defends
the girl against a rapist, but will his life be forfeit and Richard jailed?
Secrecy creates problems and makes unexpected
enemies!
