Book Review

Basic Details:

Book Title: The Rise of a Golden Lion

Subtitle:

Author: Michael Feng

Genre: Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Superhero

Part of a series?

Order in series:

Best read after earlier books in series?

Available:  https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/54743004-the-rise-of-a-golden-lion

Overall score:

I scored this book 5/5

Short Summary of the book:

When I took up this book, I did not expect to find the quality of writing I did. The author is only twelve, but his writing and vocabulary suggest more than that.

We read about a young man, who is abducted and attacked by a lion. Following this attack, he reluctantly accepts his role as a super-hero and becomes part of a team trying to save the world from an evil master. Will he succeed?

This is not a quick read, it is a full novel.

What I liked about the book:

The book is amazing, grabbing the attention continuously and suggest a far more mature author than a 12-year-old.

What I didn’t like about the book:

There was nothing to dislike. The vocabulary and writing were superb.

My favourite bits in the book:

The entire book.

My least favourite bits in the book:

I enjoyed the entire book.

Any further books in the series? Any more planned by this author?

I believe this is the debut novel by the hand of this author. I am sure we can expect more from him.

What books could this be compared to and why?

This book is different from the type of books I tend to read. I, therefore, have little to compare it with.

Recommendation:

In summary, I would recommend this book for the following readers:

Children

Yes

Young Adult

Yes

Adult

Possibly

If you like superheroes, spy novels and intrigue, this book may be the book for you.

I look forward to reading more books by this author.
